I found acupuncture after a car accident in 2011, and it helped me get off pain medicine. That change alone made such a difference in my life that I knew I had to find out more. My education has allowed me an in-depth look at the medicine that helped my pain. My patients reap that benefit because of my knowledge of being on both sides of the needle.
I was born in Canada and moved to the US when I was a kid. I’ve lived on both coasts and arrived in Portland, OR in the spring of 2011 where I’ve lived ever since. Portland exposed me to acupuncture and Chinese medicine in a way that I hadn’t been previously. After finishing my undergraduate degrees at Portland State University, I enrolled in school at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine where I graduated with a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and am pursing a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
I specialize in treating health care providers, but I also do clinical consultations for the patients of my patients.
I treat people with chronic and acute pain conditions. I treat people of all body sizes with disordered eating and digestive complaints using a Heath at Every Size® model. I understand triggers and use consent-based treatment. I have a strong focus on how the body manifests mental-emotional stresses, often holding onto grief and trauma.
I don’t hide who I am and I don’t expect you to, either. As a member of the LGBTQIA community, I understand the struggle patients go through in their search to find a provider who can not only treat their medical problems, but also respect and honor their identity. You’ll find me to be someone that you can share all the details with rather than compartmentalizing. Kink and polyamorous friendly/experienced.
A person may come to me for many reasons. They may see something of themselves in me or perhaps they want to be treated for something I specialize in. Whatever your reason is for choosing me, I’m glad you found me. Click the button below to make an appointment today.
